Warning: Spoilers
Just another Canadian low budget 80's horror movie! Curtains starts out strong. A surprise, an actress fakes being insane to develop her character with help of her director for a trip to the institute! Talk about method acting. Lots of potential, strong acting, directing etc for the start of this film There's a double cross and the actress is left to rot with the insane. The middle part of Curtains has 5 women going to the secluded directors mansion for casting try outs for the part the women who escaped from the institute was supposed to get. Wow what a film I thought. Then the middle part of the film slows right down. There's the famous ice skating scene, and music by Burt C give hints of Canada film, but Curtains could not be saved. Well the lacking of budget and story the film use slick casting couch stunts to keep the viewer interested.. Start of the film I give an eight, the middle of the film a five and the end is a one. Curtains ends with the over the top ending of the killer chases the protagonist, and the plot twist. 3 stars. My wife liked this one the film is more like a soap opera.
