The whole movie revolves around swallow characters aspiring to very controversial values (sex as a means of entering the high society and attaining a lavish lifestyle). In fact, in many instances, the movie contains unnecessary scenes of sex and nudity which serve no purpose except for providing visual pleasure to the audiences.
Also, most conversations of the movie are rather superficial and meaningless, devoid of any form of intellect or profoundness. This highlights the superficiality of the characters, as they seem unable to produce more meaningful and thought-provoking discussions.
In addition to that, the ending of the movie, found the characters in an almost identical state as they were in the beginning of the movie. The only change was in Naima's envy of the lavish lifestyle. However, this minor change does not seem important enough to justify the rest of the movie. Hence, that's why I believe that the movie was pointless: Because, for the most part, the narrative did not offer anything to the development of the portrayed characters, nor did it add anything important to what was already known in the beginning.
