Your Honor (I) (2020– )
7/10
Jimmy Shergill's Best
24 June 2020
Jimmy Shergill plays Judge Bishan Khosla with perfection, he brings out the dilemma Khosla is facing with subtle but strong performance, even when Khosla is furious, Shergill never goes over the top, it's his best performance till date. It was nice to see Mita Vashisht on screen after a long time, she plays Inspector Kiran Sekhon. Mita blends with her character easily and is able to show Kiran's frustrations and the belief that she can still do something good. In the scenes where Kiran gets angry Mita seems losing control over her acting, she could have done a better job in those scenes. Varun Badola portrays his character Kashi skilfully without putting much effort. Suhasini Mulay and Yashpal Sharma have also done a good job here.

Judge Bishan Khosla's dilemma and his actions are the biggest strength of the story of the show. Being an emotional thriller the pace of the story is very fast without losing focus on the emotional side of it. The series format lets you focus on other characters also rather than focusing only on main characters and the writers utilise it very well, but the other characters are not there just for the sake of it they contribute in moving the story forward. The way secrets start unfolding will keep you hooked to the show till the last episode, the last scene and the last shot of the show.

"Your Honour" is set in Ludhiana and that is refreshing because mostly films and shows are set in either Mumbai or Delhi as if the rest of India doesn't exist. Using the concept of migrant workers also goes in favour of the show, without using too much of time the makers succeed in showing migrant's plight in an alien state and how they are perceived by the natives and exploited by the gangsters of their own community. But basically the show is about a judge who follows every line, every word, written in the book of law, but finds it very hard to do so when his own son is found on the wrong side of the law. Once again I would like to say that Jimmy Shergill has done an incredible job here as Bishan Khosla the judge. I'll highly recommend that you watch "Your Honour" if you like fast paced thrillers which asks you a moral question. The end will give you a high voltage shock.
