In a lot of ways, this is a small film. It's heartfelt and good. Unfortunately, Sondra Locke could never act. She basically drifted along on Eastwood's coattails for decades. Then sued him. Twice.
And Warner Brothers.
That's her legacy and Eastwood went on to make a ton more great films.
