The Show Must Go On!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Miss Sarah Conrade is an opera singer with a voice that can drive men crazy. At least that is the conclusion of the police detective investigating an obsessed fan stalking the diva.

The historic Riviera Theatre will re-open its doors with a gala in which the operatic performer Melissa Ameia is to perform. But Miss Ameia becomes the prima donna and reneges on her agreement. Thus, the manager Ryan Charles works with Sarah's manager Mark Barron to coax Miss Conrade out of retirement.

It has been three years since Miss Conrade last performed after she was stabbed by a crazed fan. It was believed that the fan was shot and killed, but it turns out that he floated down the river and survived. Now, he's back for another attempt to torment Miss Conrade.

The film was sluggish in its pace with a spark of life coming primarily from a confrontation of the dueling divas, Miss Conrade and Miss Ameia, at the theater. There was no mystery about who was the villain of the piece, as the crazed fan was identified early in the film. It was never made clear what was his motivation other than that he was an aficionado of opera, and the aria "O Quante Volte" from Bellini's "The Capulets and the Montagues" set him off on a psychopathic rampage.

The thrilling conclusion took place beneath the theatre in a labyrinth of tunnels, water, and rats. Miss Conrade's daughter Haley, played by an actress who looked more like the diva's sister rather than her daughter, was held hostage by the villain. Miss Conrade took an unexpected intermission in her virtuoso performance to rescue her daughter, kill the villain, and presumably return to the stage for Act II.

The show must go on!!!
