First few minutes of the film is alright, but still not great acting even then. Seriously, the dad couldn't feel the vibrations through the house or even hear her when there was NO AUDIO coming through his headphones? After this, it goes downhill very fast. Bad acting and badly written characters. You supposed to sympathise with the husband or Ashley or who? None of the characters are likeable. The husband is annoying and just seems like a trashy person, the sister and Ashley come off as cold and very rude. The only characters you can somewhat empathize with are Nicole and Ashley and that's because Nicole seems caring and Ashley just seems to have a lot of mental issues. 50 minutes of the film is dedicated to story building that leads no where. You don't end up caring about any of the characters and so their deaths are meaningless. For all the buildup, it's very disappointing when you actually see the Rake. Okay effects but they're not very convincing. Gore is alright, probably the best thing in the movie and the ending is okay. I know it's based off a creepypasta, but the creepypasta itself wasn't that great and never warranted a movie. It's just like the Slenderman movie all over again. Don't go out of your way to watch it.
