I am a combat veteran from back in the day - a combat medic in fact. 91A/B for those who know or care. Anyway, while I don't find this series compelling I do find it interesting. Of course, I never went in expecting MASH 2.0 either. Episode 1 was lame, but episodes 2 and 3 have been quite a bit better. Many of the lower ratings are from folks who maybe gave up on the show too early. It's a mix of fantasy and reality, of things that absolutely don't happen with a few things that absolutely do. This series is not trying to be a gritty documentary and it admittedly has very few knee-slapping moments, so I just take it for what it is - mid week entertainment.
