Average Acting Can't Save a Terrible Story
23 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The actors are not the culprits for how bad the movie is. They were average, play their parts and delivering their lines adequately. Where this movie lacks is in the storytelling.

You can barely tell how that happened. The direction is flawed and the script isn't bad in terms of dialogue, plus there are enough clever moments to lead you to believe that it could be a decent movie. In the beginning, anyway. SPOILERS BELOW.

Someone involved in production was delusional enough to believe that the audience didn't deserve (or need?) any explanation whatsoever. The intro to the movie introduces us to LinkRabbit's creator and explains why he's a little jaded, but at no time are we told who Bobby is, where Bobby came from, what happened to Bobby and why LinkRabbit's creator is working together with him.

This attempt at "mystery" and leaving the villain open to interpretation fails miserably. Some of the info presented was unnecessary and necessary info was left out completely.

There's also the unfortunate focus on communicating the stories and personalities of the influencers, over any tact with scares. Yes, character development is important... but so is the 'horror' aspect of your horror movie.

Anyway, that's my rant.
