Alright Slasher, But Could've Been Better.
22 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Watched this a few days ago after seeing a trailer of the film on YouTube. I recalled the creepy masked killer seen in the film as I had seen it before, so I knew I had to watch this one.

The story follows an actress who is double crossed by a director who tricks her into being locked away in a mental asylum. She then escapes & gets revenge on the man that screwed her over.

The films concept was unique & not badly made given the 3 year hellish production history it had. Overall, it was a good watch, but it could've been better. 1. More of a body count & or other scenes of blood or violence which leads me to my 2nd point, 2. More bloody & gore! This film lacked that & instead opted for more story & awkward dialogue. 3. The kills were too few & far between, an extension to my first point which mentioned the body count. Even a scene depicting violence, a dream sequence (like the first part of the film did) would've helped spice this film up a bit.

But sadly, it feels too much like a restrained slasher that wants to be something more than what it is. The deaths were pretty weak & strayed way too far to even be considered censored version of what could've been. Not to mention the gore, which was used sparingly to the extreme, the violence itself was lacking terribly. The kill;s could've been better with more violence & gore long story short.

However, the mask was creepy & the ice skating scene was ace... even though the pay off was crap. The twist was surprising, but kind of weird.

Overall a slasher that could've been way better. 5/10
