Love this series but the storyline is totally incorrect

I love these characters and setting, but there is NO WAY Meg would be entitled to a dime. I would never have even allowed her to stay there! They were so polite and nice to her despite what she was doing, which, let's face, no human would be capable of. They should have created a more believable, legally possible plot. Once probate is over, no dispute is possible!!
