The movie, The Secret Life of Bees, is a fascinating addition to the Secret Life of Bees franchise. In this film the main character, Lily Owens, leaves home and goes on an adventure with her housekeeper, Rosaleen, to find out the truth about her mother. Along the way she discovers what a mother really is. This movie shows its audience that it takes more than just having a child to be a mother. I would recommend this film to teens and adults. Even though, it's not exactly like the film, I think the producers did a good job portraying each character from the novel to the movie. I also really loved the cast of people in this film and I think that other teens and adults will recognize the people in it, making it more interesting to them. I liked the movie because of how well the actors and actresses portrayed the characters, but something I didn't really like was how hard the movie would be to follow if I hadn't read the book. For example, Dakota Fanning played a great Lily Owens and acted just as I thought Lily would. To the reader's, go watch the movie because it has some really good messages, and an excellent cast.
