As someone who's seen both movies, I can't say I am obliged to hate this one (nor I think anyone should). Matter of fact is, there is much to enjoy from this as well, specially photography and scenery, and if you come to me saying that its a knockout just because it takes place in NY, then by all means, please go and try enjoy life. So what its a remake, this was still very much enjoyable and a extremely well told story.
If you have such strong feelings that just because there was an original one you have to hate on this one, then odds are you're missing tons of stuff in life.
