Tomb Raider (2018)
Awful writing, good performances

Warning: Spoilers
To be honest, Alicia is great. The acting was on point, the stunts were amazing, cgi was decent and the game references are there. But they're all just that, references. A replica of the plane in the game, random orange boxes lying around, same abdomen wound Lara had in the game and so on. But the plot is an insult to whoever played the game. As ridiculously as it sounds, after Lara found out where his father went 7 years ago, she decides to go look for him, only to find him playing Minecraft Irl on the island, hiding from the trinity squad, because he knew where is and how to open himiko's tomb. And that went on for 7 years. When Lara found him, it got cringe. He thought it's his imagination, didn't trust she's really there, very original, I know, when she woke up he was gone, shaving, so his precious little daughter won't see him as Santa. Cute. Then he wants to give up and she doesn't like that so she goes to the trinity camp to steal the leader's cellphone. She manages to get in a fight with everyone and his father, like any good father would do, decided to totally ignore that and go admire the tomb entrance. He gets attacked and Lara opens the tomb so they won't kill him. They wander around the tomb solving puzzles only to find out Himiko carried a very dangerous disease that spreads by touch. The father gets infected, decides to kamikaze the tomb, Lara fights with the trinity leader, wins and everything is starting to collapse. She rushes to the surface rising from the rocks and hijackes a trinity helicopter to go home. Yay! Slight little problem though... The infected trinity leader's corpse is still chilling around under some rocks. Of course we could argue about how hard it is to get there, but that's not important... Not to mention a lot of Japanese people now know where the tomb is. Which is totally fine, right? So anyway, after she gets home she finds out who the actual leader of the order is and buys 2 guns cause she has "stuff to go do".That's, that's it...

Amazing.
