Review of Avenues

Avenues (2017)
8/10
A decent drama movie with a sense of realism and well played characters.

I liked this one quite a bit. It follows a guy named Max who pretty recently lost his brother and seemingly isn't really sure how to take the tragic event. At the start, it focuses on he and his best friend Peter who flew into town for a while on business. You soon learn that these two guys are no less closer than brothers and there's nothing they wouldn't do to help each other and be there for one another.

You follow them as they hang out and enjoy each other's company. They even make a couple of good friends along the way. They butt heads a little here and there as friends do and eventually end up getting under each other's skin, at which point they need a break from each other and the story just narrows in on Max for a little while. It digs a little deeper into his character and shows you a little about who he is and what he's gone through recently.

Ultimately, it weaves Peter back into the story and you are following both of them once again. I hope I didn't make it sound too flat in my brief little summary here. If you like dramas that explore certain events that unfold in a character's life, you will most likely find yourself enjoying this one. I did.
