I've seen quite a few unfair reviews saying this film was boring. I was never bored, but not particularly gripped either. But the film is well worth the admission money for Julianne Moore's excellent and nuanced performance alone. She was never off the screen. The last film I saw with JM was Bel Canto, which was an utter embarrassment. Indeed Julianne herself looked embarrassed with her lip syncing. Boy does she make up for it with her performance in Gloria Bell. And the ending is worth the wait - it made me come out of the cinema with a huge smile on my face. So simple but it works so well alongside the rest of the film. 7 and a half out of ten
