Review of Krypton

Krypton (2018–2019)
6/10
Give it a chance

I didn't start off too sure about this show but I felt it had potential and about three episodes in I got hooked. Kal-El/Clark may not be in this show but his presence is still felt as well as what is at stake.

I love the characters, the actors, exploring Superman's home world and its culture. The CGI, sets and costumes are all top notch. The plot has enough twists to keep you hooked and the season ended on a real high and I can't wait for season 2.

If there is one comic book show to watch, this is the one I'd fully recommend.

Edited after watching season 2: I originally rated this show 10/10 but Season 2 wasn't nearly as good as season 1 and I felt I needed to update my review as it didn't reflect how I felt about it.

I really didn't like it much. The show was missing a lot of season 1 positives. The CGI was still pretty good but the characters were not as likable as in season 1. And I really hated Lobo. I did stop watching for a while after episode 3 but I decided to give it another chance, just to see what the writers did with it. One story line did resolve itself (sort of, if there was a season 3 they probably could have reintroduced the scenario if they wanted) but not the story line I would have liked to have seen concluded. The high note that season 2 ended on looked like there may have been a possibility for an interesting and good season 3. But I wouldn't have looked forward to it as enthusiastically as season 2.
