As a United Methodist youth minister and seminary student I decided to watch this movie with my youth group.
We found this movie hilarious but for the wrong reasons. Yes, it did cover the highlights of Wesley's life well but was overshadowed by how bad the acting was. The green screen, and boat scenes were laughable by how bad they were. Don't even get me started on the John and Sophie scenes.....talk about cringy! but hilarious.
The movie does a great job of including important topics to United Methodists like...it's origins, Christian Perfection, Polity, Itineracy, Band formation, and most importantly Grace.
I wanted to give this movie a low rating but I refuse to be salty like John was to Sophie when he refused her communion...so I decided to offer grace and give it a rating of 9/10
