It's the tight knit DiMeo family. Maya (Minnie Driver) is the tiger mother protecting her disabled son JJ. Jimmy is the easy going father. Ray is the awkward middle child. Dylan is the fiery youngest child. They hire Kenneth Clements as JJ's aide.
I love this family. It doesn't matter that Minnie Driver still has her British accent. She delivers her overprotective character with love. I love how this family fight for each other. It's classic family sitcom. The biggest difference is JJ's disability. The show handles it with class and real love. It doesn't shy away from the issues but it's not self-righteous. Aside from the disability, this is a standard network family sitcom although a well made one. It's just good.
