What great actors for this very sad story of an incredibly inept husband with no brains or humility. A wife trying to figure out what is happening as he parades his new pregnant girlfriend to his wife and mother saying he wants a no hassle quickie divorce. A reviewer said the movie was dated, but I think she is stunned at his callousness, selfishness and really is in shock. Shock isn't a momentary feeling, it can last. Great movie but sad and depressing. Jacob reminds me of my ex-husband who I left after two years because he thought it was OK to not take care of himself, get fat and be happy with his wife and children.... he was content. (also years later learned his strange unsympathetic personality was do to him having Asperger Syndrome). Jacob is just like my EX - a narcissist.
