I know in general what happened in Hogfather, a goofy movie about an alternate world with an alternate Santa-Claus character who's part pig, yet from moment to moment I was often puzzled. I felt things just happened, often without proper explanation, and it seemed the plan was to throw so much magic and comedy and weirdness at the audience that they never quite noticed things weren't being explained.
But I did notice. I also didn't find this nearly as funny as the Colour of Magic, although it had a similar quality, down to the broad strokes and cheesiness.
It's still enjoyable overall, but I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't keep getting a little lost.
