Entertaining but Lacking Realism

Warning: Spoilers
So. I really have enjoyed season one. I think the plot and story arch are very good. Actors are perfectly suited for what they do. Kracinski is really solid.

But, the flaw here is in the particular scenes. There are too many instances where the writers make the soldiers or others think with as much wisdom as a ten year old. Given that Yemen is one of the most dangerous nations on earth, loaded with terrorists, are we really to believe that US Marines are going to let bodies onto a base - where they are already harboring a potentially high level fugative - without fully examining them? That's absurd. Or that trained soldiers will a charge into one area and neglect several other areas? Come on. Please. Show some realism. There are several other instances where individuals or groups act with all the insight and forethought of a child. It just does not add up.

Overall, I enjoy the show. But these writers need to be taken to the woodshed for their ignorance of sound military tactics within the US military. It makes the show cheesy - sort of like watching 24. Not up to Clancy standards in that respect.

Broad Narrative - check. Acting - check. Dialogue - check. Military scenes - fail.
