An ode to girls (of all ages)
27 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
"Girls Like You" is a song by Maroon 5 from 2018 and if you know a bit about this band and current music, you probably have heard people say they either love the band (and songer Adam Levine) or hate them because their songs all sound the same in a similar fashion Nickelback is criticized, but not as frequent and extreme I guess. Anyway, I must say I liked this one and Levine's voice fits the catchy tune pretty perfectly. The music video is really creative too and there a many female superstars seen briefly from start to finish here. No idea why it just mentions Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown here, perhaps because a ST fan wrote it or just because she is the youngest from the bunch. Anyway, you can see all the names and famous people featured in here on the cast list. It runs for 4.5 minutes all in all, typical music video length and I liked most of the effects, how eventually Levine disappears as well before reappearing and we see him with his significant other, which was cute. Also interesting to see all of them standing in a circle at the end. The only thing I did not like was Cardo B.'s rap part to be honest. In understand they wanted a female voice too given the subject, but it did not fit at all and was almost a negative deal breaker here. Rest is fine though, so a thumbs-up from me and I recommend checking it out. Also one that is much better to watch the music video than just listen to the record. Thumbs-up.
