Megan (II) (2018)
4/10
Visually okay, but lacks in the story department
19 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
"Megan" is a new American (mostly) English-language short film from 2018 directed and co-written by Greg Strasz and as he is a prolific visual effects artist, you vaguely know already where this film here is heading, namely into the action department, but sadly it stays there mostly and never really develops an interesting story. The idea of the girl being oinside the helicopter and the suspense why she is there and what her abilities areis not even enough for 6 minutes (without credits). The meeting down there with the other fellow adds very little too. Ralf Möller's inclusion is one you barely recognize, even as a German, but yeah you need to be a huge fan of Möller already to appreciate this film enough for a positive recommendation. For me it falls flat in almost every department to be honest and from what I saw here, I am not interested in seeing a full feature film unless they really step things up for that, but I don't even have any idea if something like that is planned. Overall, this short here is not a failure, but I also cannot really understand the noise it's been making. Gotta give it a negative recommendation and I suggest you watch something else instead, maybe only check it out to see the basis if a good full feature film about Megan ever gets made. Thumbs down.
