John Woo presents Stranglehold is an amazing game by Midway Home Entertainment, It combines Max Payne and Chow Yun-Fat's over-the-top movies to an awesome nut shot to John Woo. I never watched John Woo's movies but this was great.

I downloaded the game 3 days ago to try it, I was trying to download Vin Diesel's Wheelman (Midway's last game) before downloading this game. Sadly I cannot, So, I downloaded this game for a whopping 12GB! (ps : The Internet was fast, So I downloaded it on Sunday again.)

Let's waste no time and we will go through it!

PLOT -Inspector Tequila (played by Chow Yun-Fat) has a war between two gangs or mafia from Hong Kong and Chicago. The gang from Hong Kong is the Dragon Triad run by Ty Lok while in Chicago there was a mafia run by Billie Wong.

GRAPHICS - The game runs in an heavily modified version of the Unreal 3.0 engine. It contains a feature called Massive Destruction (Massive D) where the player can cause destruction to any objects.

GAMEPLAY - The gameplay is awesome. It contains a bullet time mode called 'Tequila Time' to slow down time in order to dodge enemies. There are four types of modes that made the gameplay awesome.

HEALTH - It heals Tequila from damage due to gunfire.

PRECISION AIM - It performs slo-mo shots from the nutshots to the headshots. It was pretty great.

BARRAGE - It is really insane, It makes Tequila unstoppable while a bunch of enemies cannot kill due to invisiblity.

SPIN ATTACK - It makes Tequila spin around while the iconic John Woo Doves were in the background. It is helpful when a bunch of enemies are too much in any room.

MULTIPLAYER - d i s c o n n e c t e d f r o m s e r v e r .

CHARACTERS - The characters are fine, but their character models are terrible.

ANIMATION AND SOUND EFFECTS - Perfect but not that bad, but doing shots by using Precision Aim reminds me of a stupid guy trying to be a bad guy.

I really started to like this game, It was a great game from Midway to absolutely get favorable reviews from John Woo fans. I saw in-game advertising when I saw a Midway logo and then a game called Blacksite Area 51 (I don't know about this game) but I will also highly recommend this game to any John Woo who is interested to have a game based on it.

(ESRB RATING : This game is rated M for Mature 17+, It contains blood and gore, violence and drug references.)
