It is almost unbelievable to me that this film ever saw the light of day. There have, through the years, been good and bad documentaries about the JonBenet Ramsey case, but this one tops them all in its grotesquerie and obvious cash grab for the 20th anniversary of JonBenet's death.
I don't know what other reviewers saw when they write that the film was "utterly compelling" or "meta-film done right", or my personal favorite, "fascinating film on the human condition." What?
The adults in the film were bad enough, but to subject little girls and little boys to this material seems like it should be actionable.
There is no fascination here, there is nothing compelling. There is only rehash of this sad murder story that ended up making me feel sorry for the remaining Ramsey family if they ever chose to watch it -- something I thought could never happen. AVOID!
