"The World of Tomorrow" is a 6-minute short film from 2005, but actually it is from the late 1990s even as it only got released in 2005 on the DVD of "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow". You will recognize the similarity in the title and yes this one we have here is an early career work by writer and director Kerry Conran whose career stayed surprisingly unprolific after the blockbuster movie I just mentioned. back to this one here, it does not get me curious about said blockbuster at all sadly. It's not a problem that it is in black-and-white, but it is a problem that it takes basically three minutes before anything happens and let me remind you again that this is a 6-minute movie only. Then finally we see huge robots invading the city and finally Sky Captain is off to the rescue. That is all and it's really not much at all for 6 minutes, maybe accurate for 1-2 minutes. 4 stars out of 10 for the style, atmosphere and soundtrack, but story-wise a 2 out of 10 may have been more appropriate. Don't watch.
