Disappointing portrayal
24 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
For several weeks before the show started, I was really looking forward to seeing the portrayal of these four greats performing together. When it finally did start, I enjoyed being involved in the development of my heroes.

But I was extremely disappointed in the fact there was NO million dollar quartet (the original title of the show). In fact, Carl Perkins only played one number, and that was more than halfway into the final episode - the same for Johnny Cash. Jerry Lee didn't get to play a single number (except for a bit of tinkering around on the church piano. And as for the actor playing Sam Phillips - I'm sure the folks didn't (and don't) speak like that in Memphis. He was portrayed as a smarmy character with a voice to match. Having said all that, and despite the wonky timeline, I still enjoyed the show. Hopefully there will be a 'Series 2'
