Skookum - A new movie with a 1970's retro look and feel to it.

Warning: Spoilers
Actually, received a First Assembly DVD Copy from Deborah McMartin(the writer, producer and casting director) back in the summer of 2016. Got to watch the DVD with my cousin and one of his friends. We all enjoyed the movie very much as it had a slight 1970's feel to it, which means that just about anyone will like this movie. The narration reminded me of The Legend of Boggy Creek. The scenery around Oil City, the swamp and the two men in the boat brought back vivid memories of The Creature from Black Lake. The two men in the boat are a riot! The scene where the two young girls were on the sofa when they "heard something" and the way that the furniture and room was arranged got me to thinking about The Mysterious Monsters and the scene where the young woman was on the sofa and a hairy arm breaks thru the window and grabs at her, who then gets up and gets her husband who goes to the front door with 30/30 Winchester rifle in hand and opens the door revealing the creature standing right there(quite shocking). Enjoyed the part when the scenery would turn red when looking at it thru the creatures eyes. I know this was used in several Bigfoot,Sasquatch movies to good effect. The one most vivid to me was in Snowbeast(1977) when everything turned red as someone was getting killed. Overall, a very well written movie about a villainous creature and I am not going to spoil the ending, but one clue is that to think of The Return to Boggy Creek. Lastly, this movie is an effort to be proud of. They had good actors, excellent cinematography and a music score that fit in real well with the movie. I am going to see it when it hits the cinemas and will buy a final copy of the movie on DVD to help support them make more movies like this one. I did mention to Debbie that if they needed an idea or theme for another Bigfoot movie to take the crew to Croton on Hudson,NY and Fordham University and try something along the lines of Shriek of the Mutilated from 1974. In closing, a very wonderful and talented crew and company that earned the rights to make another movie!
