Pros:
1) Stays true to origins: People complained about Scooby-Doo: Mystery Inc. and The Looney Tunes Show not staying to its original formula (although I kind of liked the ongoing mystery in the former). However, not many people can complain that this series doesn't stray from the formula. You still have cat chases mouse. You even have some of the same sound effects.
2) Still tries something new: While Tom and Jerry have stories with the same formula, it also isn't afraid of trying stories with something new. I especially enjoy the detective stories, since we see another side of Tom and Jerry.
3) Not too annoying: The problem I find with some of the current animated series are how annoying they can be. I might be wrong, but I don't find that problem in this series.
Cons:
1) Animation and art style: I will admit, this is probably the weakest point. The animation and art style is cheap. However, I think maybe the reason is that there isn't that much of a demand for slapstick humor as it was in the original's time of release. More effort is being put into dude-bro, dumb, and internet humor (don't ask me why). This might be why Tom and Jerry suffered so much in this series. Plus, with the fact that this show was announced a while ago (around the time Green Lantern: The Animated Series premiered), it must have been in storage for a while. Still, I don't think this is a legitimate reason to stop watching the show.
2) Still have some jerk characters and punching bag characters: I think this is just a problem that plagues the whole franchise (or at least the series following the original), but Jerry is always made out to be the good guy, despite sometimes going too far with his gags, and Tom is made out to be the bad guy, despite sometimes not even agitating Jerry.
All-in-all, it is still a watchable series. I can see it lasting WB Animation obligatory 52 episodes. I know it is being burned off as I type, but maybe its season 2 can be on Boomerang.
