Like I did with Punch-Drunk Love, I heard nothing but good things about Reign Over Me. And like that film, I wasn't expecting such a wonderful film. The film has many moments when it is powerful and also when it is touching, especially the end, where I promised myself not to cry but couldn't take it anymore. The story is compelling and original, the film looks striking, and there is solid direction, a nicely understated background score and a very well meaning script. Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler also give wonderful performances, and I concur with those who says Sandler is better in dramatic roles than he is in comedy, in comedy I can find him irritating depending on the character and how the film itself is written, but in drama you see a different side to him and it is often quite endearing. All in all, touching, powerful and well-done. 10/10 Bethany Cox
