Lost Boys: The Thirst (2010 Video)
5/10
MUCH better than part 2
20 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Mild spoilers contained. Having sat through the wholly underwhelming second movie in the Lost Boys franchise I was really not expecting much from the third movie.

However, despite a few flaws the film was actually very entertaining. Corey Feldman is clearly having a blast playing Edgar Frog again and his enthusiasm seems to bleed (no pun intended) into the other actors performances as everyone looks to be having fun regardless of their acting ability (and trust me, some people's acting in this is pretty bad in places).

It was great witnessing the return of the Frog Bros after having Edgar flying solo in the last movie and the film really is at it's best when they are together on screen. This leads to the biggest flaw in the movie, Alan Frog just ain't in it enough, he spends a massive chunk of a pretty short movie totally absent from the action which kinda sucks (again, no pun intended) for a movie that heavily promotes the return on the Frog Bros.

They also explain what happened to Sam Emerson and why he's not around which pays respects to Corey Haim at the same time and was a nice touch that was far better than the shafting he received in the second movie.

Production values were good and on the whole looked a damn sight better than the last despite a smaller budget this time around. However I must admit to not liking the vamp make up too much but again, it was better than the bat-like make up from part 2.

The action sequences are good, there's some decent gore in places and the humour on the whole works nicely.

After seeing this, I am all for the continuation of this series. Roll on Lost Boys 4!!!
