I was somewhat disappointed by this half-hour animated movie which a) tells its own rather slight story and also b) explains some of what happened between Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick.
I suppose it's better than not having it at all - and I like having Vin Diesel et al bringing aural continuity, at least - but I think there was potential for more. In particular, while I can understand the stylistic choice for anime-type presentation, I don't care for it that much and I would have preferred either traditional western-style hand-drawn animation, or CGI.
But that's not what I got.
Worth half an hour of your time, but that's about all.
