Great story telling
20 January 2010
This film is about a movie director's healing and closure for a tragedy that happened years earlier.

"Broken Embraces" is visually appealing to look at, as every scene is thoughtfully composed. The plot is told engagingly, it unfolds bit by bit to make me want to know more. I like Penélope Cruz's performance, as she is enchantingly seductive and yet sad and helpless. Blanca Portillo's character is also great, as she gives such a heartbreaking performance so naturally at the end.

"Broken Embraces" could be edited to a little shorter, but I still enjoyed watching it without feeling bored.
