More exciting adventures
8 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
After an unfortunate downturn into broad comedy in the last feature, this next adventure sends Indiana Jones (Sean Patrick Flanery) to the Middle East, where in his capacity as intelligence officer he helps the British and their Australian allies take the town of Beersheba.

These days, you could easily re-title the adventure "Indiana Jones vs. James Bond" as Indy has a tense punch-up with German Intelligence head Schiller, played by the latest 007 Daniel Craig. Catherine Zeta-Jones is fiery and seductive as a treacherous double-agent, and there is some fine support from Cameron Daddo and Todd Boyce as two Australian soldiers, as well as Colin Baker as a British Commander. It's also nice to see Douglas Henshall back as Indy's friend T.E Lawrence.

The whole adventure is very skilfully directed, and the script doesn't miss a trick with lots of scheming, ruses and double-crosses perpetrated by Indy and his enemies to keep the viewer in suspense. The outcome however is never in doubt but this doesn't matter as it is still good fun to watch.

Good to see the series get back on track with this.
