Excellent adventure and groudbreaking effects...

1st watched 9/17/2009 - 7 out of 10 (Dir- Merian C. Cooper): Excellent adventure and groudbreaking effects in this classic film. For it's time, I'm not sure how they could have done any better with this film. Excellent claymation and incorporating it with the live action to make a truly exciting and believable looking movie. The story is about an adventurous filmmaker departing to an uncharted island to film a picture about a beauty and a beast (that is yet to be known or seen by anyone outside of the natives that live there). When he gets there, he encounters the natives sacrificing one of their own to it, but the blond played by Fay Wray entices them more and they want her for the sacrifice instead. They steal her and sacrifice her to Kong and the crew then attempts to rescue the maiden running into many other enormous creatures on their quest. They capture the girl and the beast and then take him back to New York to display for money. The rest of the story you probably already know and I won't destroy it for someone who hasn't seen one of the three movie versions(which is unlikely). Anyway, even though this movie was made in 1933 it still amazed me on how it was done and is also exciting. This is a one of a kind movie that should be enjoyed by many generations and hopefully will be now that it's been restored to allow excellent viewing.
