Of course a bit silly and not much plot to be found here. Still much better than the hideous US Remake (that can be found somewhere else here on IMDb, just look under movie connections. I have rated and commented that too)!
The main characters (a cab driver and a police man) and their struggles (indivudually and with one another) are just great fun to watch. There are also a few running gags, that ran through the series (or at least some of the follow-ups), that started here, one involving the cab drivers girl friend. The storyline could've gone wrong, but it ultimately worked out (at least in the first installment). When you see ghosts, you know who to call, when you need a fast taxi, now you also know who to call ... ;o)
