Review of Waterproof

Waterproof (2000)
10/10
"Waterproof" is a powerful treasure of a movie. Don't miss it.

"Waterproof" is a beautiful example of the way sour relationships between family members and an unusual guest (Bert Reynolds) can grow and blossom into a unity that many people long for. Through everyday life, and church, the characters in this movie help each other overcome fears and resentments. Sometimes this is done intentionally. Sometimes it just happens from being in the same house. And the role played by church in transforming these lives was uplifting and powerful. Every actor was superb and made this complex story so real and down-to-earth that you feel as if you are part of the story. Each time I watch it, I love it more. There's a lesson for all of us here.
