Too political for it's own good!

But Kate Winslet packs a punch nevertheless as the witty reporter Bitsey Bloom whom she appears to have channeled out of Julia Roberts college for the naturally gifted! Winslet had to adopt a Newyork American accent and she got it so right that legend has it that she even played pranks on the director and casting by pretending to be a rude agent representing herself in a series of riveting phone calls to the set. David Gale (Kevin Spacey) is a man who falls from grace after having one of those silly one night stand type things that men and their penises have at any given moment in life. He has sex with one of his students at university and she implicates him after the school suspends her for falling grades. Gale's wife and child desert him after this and he is himself thrown out of the college where he had been such a celebrated and respected professor. The plot thickens when a former co-worker and co-activist (played by Laura Linney) winds up dead and once more Gale (the last person seen with her) winds up as a suspect and is implicated. He ends up on death row and Bitsey Bloom (Winslet) is the lucky reporter who gets the one and only interview with him before he is executed. Bitsey flies in from NY is sets up camp but halfway through her interviews with Gale, she finds herself playing detective/reporter/potential victim in a series of plot twists. Who set Gale up? Can she get to the bottom of it before the execution deadline? Is there a conspiracy theory? What will happen to Bitsey? These are all things you will have to find out when you enter the almost perfect LIFE OF David GALE.
