At the time Top Gun was made, it was a great and fun movie. These days I think it needs some serious work, and I hoped the french would be up to the task. Usually the french do know how to make a good action movie, but sadly they have failed at 'Sky Fighters'. Yes, everything in the air is great and better than Top Gun. (Well, okay, the F-14 looks a lot cooler than the Mirages but well, the flying was still awesome) But everything besides that was simply bad. Story had plenty of holes, I didn't like the actors, and at least the German translation of the movie was horrible. (I really, really hope the original dialog is better, because this version was just stupid from beginning to end) Also the ending seemed really rushed and not well thought out. Again, if you liked Top Gun for the pictures in the sky, 'Sky Fighters' might be good for you, but do not expect anything besides that!
