Little Fish (2005)

Finally, a film we can be proud of!
12 September 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I find the above interpretation of the ending certainly a bizarre one. The three characters we see in the final scene have just begged for their lives, why would they then commit suicide. The ending to me represents letting go of the past, new beginnings, and freedom. The freedom one has as a child, as we see in the flash backs on the beach. The film is book-ended with the beach images of freedom and better days.

A superbly acted Australian story with no clichés or caricatures. I was so very, very proud when i left the cinema. The touching voices of the Sacred Heart School choir will haunt me forever. A song of Australian youth sung for a new generation with multicultural voices. A must see film for every Australian.
