Emotive movie to say the least!
9 September 2005
When I first saw it I was zapping through cable channels searching for something interesting to see, and when I stopped at the beginning of Herts of Stone, I "glued" ever since the first moment! It is a story of 2 rival gangs settling a dispute by playing Russian roulette between the senior members of the 2 factions. The movie (short) goes shot after shot after shot and every time you see one of the black guys pointing a gun to his head all you can think of is if that is the one that carries the bullet inside the chamber! It doesn't take much more than 30 minutes to find out what happens at the end but every second between pulling the trigger and feeling the relief when the chamber is empty and the despair of the other person knowing that his odds of dieing are increased are simply breathtaking! I don't know if you have seen "The Deer Hunter" and the part where Christopher Walken and Robert De Niro play Russian roulette to amuse the Vietnamits but for those of you who have and felt the rush of that scene, believe me, "Hearts of Stone" is by far more emotive!
