Review of Bushmen

Bushmen (2004)
9/10
Very clever satirical comedy
27 January 2005
Bushmen is a very funny silent black & white comedy that uses the old west as a tool to satirize our (depressingly) reelected President and his half-baked policies. Very clever in direction and conception with great performances all around. Eric Stein is particularly impressive as the heroic cowboy of the bunch who looks like he just stepped out of a black and white western from the 1930s. It was a gutsy movie to film it in black and white and to make it silent. I have not seen anyone try to do that recently, so you have to give the filmmakers ingenuity for trying something different. For those seeking a little laughter after a disaster of a presidential election, you should definitely check this out.
