Review of Sealab 2021

Sealab 2021 (2000–2005)
Recycling (SPOILERS!)
11 March 2003
Warning: Spoilers
When "Sealab 2020" was made in 1972, environmentalism was sweeping the nation. We also though that colonies on the Moon or in the ocean were around the corner. Hanna-Barbera combined these two things into the now forgotten series "Sealab 2020", a series that deserved oblivion due to it's intense preachiness. Some genius, remembering Woody Allen's "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" and the long forgotten 1980's show "Mad Movies", bought the rights, hired a cast, and began remixing the staid "2020" into "Sealab 2021." The name of the game for "Sealab 2021" is completely mocking the original series; the captain now has a fixation for an Easybake Oven, the radio guy wants to take over the world, the Erik Estrada-voiced Hispanic guy is a moron, and the French guy is now unintelligible (but comes with subtitles.) I think everyone is going nuts due to budget cutbacks, or maybe they've been watching too much "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." At any rate, it's a good excuse to stay up until 11:45pm on Sundays.
