Spider-Man Unlimited (1999–2005)
Interesting a whole new twist of Spider-Man!
21 May 2004
Warning: Spoilers
I thought Spider-Man Unlimited was pretty neat especially with the brand new Spider-Man high-tech costume that not only has web-shooters but also has spider tracers, stealth mode and invisible mode and some other tricks up Spidey's new costume. This show continues where the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon left off in the two part pilot episode Worlds Apart. Where Jonah Jameson's son, John Jameson, was about to get on the shuttle to go discover a planet called Counter Earth which was his space mission. But once John Jameson's ship was about to launch Venom and Carnage were about to hijack the ship and Spider-Man tries to stop them! But then they end up on Counter Earth which is a planet where they have people that are half human and half beast controlled by The High Evolutionary! Spider-Man and John Jameson work together along with these other rebellious freedom fighters to fight The Knights of Wundagore and High Evolutionary! There is one things I was amazed my this show is that Green Goblin is one of the freedom fighters! When I saw that I asked myself why did Green Goblin turn good? But I thought it was cool anyway. I wish there was some computer animation in this one just like in the 1994 cartoon. But still the animation wasn't too bad. Plus I thought some of the voices and lines needed to be improved like I didn't like Green Goblin's voice in this series and Rino Romano as Spider-Man/Peter Parker was okay but he could have done a little better and all the others I think are just fine. The show deserved more then 13 episodes, it should of had the same number of episodes the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon had. This show was one of my favorite Fox Kids shows! I think that Karen O'Malley is hot! I remember in 1999 after 3 episodes when this show first came on, it got canceled due to the fact that it was having a tough battle against Kids WB's Pokemon. But then the show returned in late 2000 and re-aired the first three episodes of Season 1 and then continued to air the rest of the 10 of the 13 episodes that Fox Kids had ordered and then the show was left on a cliffhanger! Although the series ended on a cliffhanger, an outline for the second season of 13 episodes was created and 6 scripts were produced, but never animated. Further episodes of the series would have taken Spidey on solo adventures after he helped the rebels end the war with the High Evolutionary to restore peace to Counter Earth and then Spider-Man would have returned to Earth.

User Rating: 8/10

BOTTOM LINE: THIS SHOW DESERVED MORE THAN 1 SEASON!
