I was able to catch this AGAIN not too long ago. I remember reading the book when I was 12 years old and saw the movie not much later. I feel that Joan Crawford was not only an alcoholic but had some delusional problems not to mention obsessive compulsive tendencies, was manipulative and outright NUTS! If parenting was conducted now like this was back in the day, this woman would have been at Social Services in a New York minute! I am glad Christina told her story because in my opinion, she grew up at the hands of a madwoman. Even though some have found "humor" in this, I also hope that it helps others out there to speak out against abuse among children. They have rights too!
