Exclusive: Matt Lanter (Jupiter’s Legacy) and newcomer Sophia Esperanza have joined Prime Video’s Motorheads cast in recurring roles, Deadline has learned exclusively.
From writer-showrunner John A. Norris, Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your very first car. Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is the adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of automobiles. And while some characters will be navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school, others will be racing from a dark past.
The series also includes previously announced stars Ryan Phillippe, Nathalie Kelley, Michael Cimino, Melissa Collazo, Uriah Shelton, Drake Rodger, Johnna Dias-Watson, Josh Macqueen and Mia Healey.
Lanter will portray Darren, a wealthy and powerful father of 17-year-old Harris (Macqueen), who, like his dad, is a serious street racer.

Not sure if Cavalry Media needs someone to come to the rescue, but the shaky shingle may now see its whole house of alleged cards come tumbling down.
Already trampled by financial ills, big-name exits and lawsuits related to the fatal 2021 shooting on Alec Baldwin’s Rust, the company run by Keegan Rosenberger and Ishan Sakena now faces a dirty-laundry lawsuit from former founder Dana Brunetti.
A year and change after Brunetti, the House of Cards executive producer and ex-Cavalry chief content officer, headed out the door to pursue his own projects (as they always say), he is now suing the company for more than $1 million in “wrongfully” withheld wages and more. Or, as the lawsuit quotes Brunetti declaring to CEO Rosenberger in a tense digital November 13, 2022 exchange in which he learned he wasn’t going to get paid his $750,000-per-year salary: “I’m not going to be rolled over and squeezed.

Exclusive: The management/production company Cavalry Media appears to be circling the drain. We’re hearing that the company co-founded by Keegan Rosenberger and the recently exited Dana Brunetti is in financial chaos. How desperate is it? The firm’s 14-person staff have not been paid in months, and they have been without benefits for that long.
Some employees are owed as much as $50K to a half-million in back pay and commissions. While staffers have been promised by Rosenberger and Cavalry CFO Reid Rogers that more money is on its way in pending deals, they are tired of hearing excuses. They believe the cavalry isn’t coming, and that the company has blown through a majority of its $14M seed funding. Legal suits to get backpay are mobilizing, Deadline hears.

Dana Brunetti, the producer behind “The Social Network,” “Captain Phillips” and Netflix’s “House of Cards,” has optioned Martin Cooper’s memoir “Cutting the Cord.” He plans to develop the novel as a feature film at Cavalry Media, his Los Angeles-based media and management company, with Keegan Rosenberger and Matt DelPiano.

Exclusive: Cavalry Media has optioned the rights to Morgan Housel’s recently published International Bestseller, The Psychology of Money: Timeless lessons on wealth, greed, and happiness from Harriman House publishers.
Money—investing, personal finance, and business decisions—is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, one’s own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In 19 short stories, Housel explores the strange ways people think about money and the psychology driving people’s decisions that often contradict basic financial fundamentals.
Cavalry Media Co-Founder Dana Brunetti tells Deadline, “You seldom, if ever, read a business or finance book and think it should be adapted to screen.
