Netflix’s popular romantic drama Sweet Magnolias has been picked up for a fourth season. Like the first three seasons, Season 4 will consist of 10 episodes. The renewal comes three months after Season 3 of Sweet Magnolias debuted on July 20.
The delay in the announcement was due to logistics, including the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but the pickup was never in doubt as the series continues to draw large, passionate female audiences. Across its three seasons to date, Sweet Magnolias has been in the Global Top 10 for 10 weeks in over 60 countries, with the most recent third season debuting at No. 1.
Still, fans had a mild reason for concern as the Season 3 finale largely wrapped storylines in a nice bow, ending on a dance and a kiss vs. major cliffhangers for the Season 1 and Season 2 enders, including a car crash with lives hanging in the balance and a surprise marriage proposal.

Many fictional television shows and web series are set in fictional towns, which become integral to the plot of the show. There is Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls, Mystics Falls in The Vampire Diaries, Hawkins in Stranger Things, and Capeside in Dawson’s Creek. Most of the time, these fictional small towns become an inherent part of the residents’ lives, so much so that most of them are unwilling to move to bigger cities and learn to live around the charms and quirks of such places.

Sweet Magnolias is making a big change ahead of its return on Netflix.
Deadline broke the news this week that the role of Katie Townsend would be recast.
The publication revealed that Ella Grace Helton will take on the role for Sweet Magnolias Season 3 -- and beyond.
Helton takes over for departing star Bianca Berry Tarantino.
Scheduling conflicts triggered producers to make the move, with the departing star set to star opposite Natalie Portman on the Apple TV+ drama Lady in the Lake.
As previously reported, Netflix will welcome viewers back to Serenity on Thursday, July 20, with all ten episodes available on that date.
The streaming service has been switching things up recently, with several of its most popular series having their seasons divided into two parts.

After a year and a half, we finally knew who was in the car.
At the beginning of Sweet Magnolias Season 2 Episode 1, we quickly learned Kyle Townsend and Nellie Lewis were in the car accident.
However, the drama in Serenity had just begun.
Finding out which teenagers were in the car sparked drama and tension among so many relationships in Serenity.
As the parents tried to place blame for how Kyle stole the car, Jackson and Tyler got into their own blame game, which left Ty injured as well.
If it was possible, Tyler seemed even more crushed than Kyle. He couldn't play baseball for at least six weeks, and the State Championships were coming up. He had scouts coming to watch him and felt his dream slipping away.
However, Kyle knew he caused this mess, but he was reluctant to discuss why. In many ways, Kyle is the typical middle child.

We're just days away from the Feb. 4 premiere of season two of "Sweet Magnolias," and call us greedy, but we're already wondering when we can expect a third season to hit Netflix. Given season one's explosive ending and season two's drama-packed trailer, by no means will we be ready to say goodbye to Serenity and the Sweet Magnolias by the finale. In addition to serving up lots of small-town drama, complicated family dynamics, and bubbling romances, season two includes several returning characters as well as new and old love interests who'll undoubtedly need a third season to prove their mark and stir the pot. So, what do Netflix and showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson have up their sleeves? Unfortunately, only time will tell.
Sadly, Netflix hasn't renewed "Sweet Magnolias" for a third season yet. However, if the response to season one's cliffhanger is any indication of how fans will react to season two,...

The first season of Sweet Magnolias was a hit for Netflix this year, maintaining its position in the top 10 of the platform’s content for some time after being added in May. Fans of the Southern-set series will be pleased to learn, then, that Netflix have already confirmed a second season of the show, which currently doesn’t yet have a release date, something likely due to the production issues faced by the industry.
The romantic drama is based on the series of books by Sherryl Woods and focuses on three South Carolina women who navigate their romantic, professional and family lives. The three characters, who are childhood friends, include JoAnna Garcia Swisher’s recent divorcee Maddie Townsend, Heather Headley as attorney Helen Decatur and Brooke Elliott as chef Dana Sue Sullivan.

If you're already adrift without another Hallmark Original Series to watch, you're not alone.
But we have good news today as Crown Media announced new original programming and some renewals we've been waiting for.
Most importantly, there are two renewals to announce that join When Calls the Heart for (fingers crossed) a 2021 release.
Good Witch will return for a seventh season, and Chesapeake Shores will return for a fifth season!
Hurrah!
As you know, Good Witch Season 6 just ended on quite the cliffhanger.
It was the first season in which Bailee Madison didn't appear as Grace, and in Rhys Matthew Bond only made guest appearances as Nick.
Without the younger cast, the adults got a lot more storylines, and love flourished.
Cassie (Catherine Bell) and Sam (James Denton) celebrated their one-year anniversary and began to grow under each other's influence.
The proved that there is always something left to learn about your partner.

Netflix has been churning out substantial updates to its content library during the ongoing pandemic, and May has been a wonderful month so far filled to the brim with heavy-hitters like District 9, an Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt special, and the unexpectedly popular The Wrong Missy. Not to mention the arrival of Space Force (check out the awesome new trailer above) next week.
