Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi is heading to court in a new Instagram post shared by the Italian Stallion for Tulsa King Season 2. The Rocky actor revealed the release date month for the sophomore season of the Taylor Sheridan crime drama, which debuts on Paramount+ in early September.
In Stallone’s Instagram post, the Demolition Man discusses filming an “interesting scene in Tulsa King,“ which took place in a courtroom. After showing the elaborate set, Stallone says he’s “not supposed to be doing this” but that he “didn’t get here by following the rules,” and teases the release window for Tulsa King Season 2. Stallone says the follow-up episodes make for “a fantastic follow up,” and “this is looking great,” referencing the show’s progress. In a caption attached to the post, Stallone writes, “I’m not supposed to be doing this, but I am because I...

Actors as gifted as Jane Asher and Joe Wilkinson can’t do much with jokes about a failing guest house 40 years past their use-by date
A car door opens; the elderly gent in the driver’s seat has popped a pill for erectile dysfunction (brand name Super Stallion). He’s at his son’s guest house to scatter the ashes of his wife – and he’s brought along a date, a gorgeous young blonde (“she’s my carer”). The pill has worked its magic, so as the man gets out of the car, he reaches for a jacket to cover the bulge in his trousers. At this point you half expect a blast of canned laughter. But this is not a sitcom from 1986, even though the script contains the same tired gags and stereotypes that should have died long ago.

Peter Farrelly is ready to eat lightning and crap thunder for a unique project focusing on Sylvester Stallone‘s beloved Rocky franchise. I Play Rocky finds Farrelly directing a film about Stallone’s journey to play the Italian Stallion on the silver screen. Toby Emmerich is producing, with Peter Gamble penning the script.
Here’s the official blurb for I Play Rocky:
A struggling actor with a partially paralyzed face and a speech impediment writes a script that a big movie studio wants to buy, but he refuses to sell it unless he gets to play the lead. Turning down an offer of life-changing money, he instead works for pennies to get the movie made with himself in the starring role. The movie becomes the biggest box office hit of 1976, notching ten Oscar nominations and winning Best Picture. The true story of the making of the iconic movie Rocky.

Just take a sneaky peak back on the movies we’ve covered so far on our Arnie Revisited series, and the Austrian Oak had already covered several genres in his rise from bodybuilder to Hollywood icon. Raw Deal and Commando were straight-up action movies, while his work as Conan was an epic mix of action and fantasy. You can even argue that The Terminator is a classic 80s slasher flick, and not simply the revolutionary sci-fi masterpiece it’s generally regarded as. However, he hadn’t managed to blend both horror and science fiction in any of his previous movies, in the way he did with the film we’re focusing on in today’s episode – Predator. It was such a huge success for both star and franchise that it not only helped to further cement Arnie as a Hollywood icon, but also created a franchise packed with sequels, a prequel,...

A cameraman who formerly worked with Megan Thee Stallion has filed a lawsuit against the rapper alleging harassment and other workplace-related claims.
Emilio Garcia worked as a cameraman for the rapper from 2018-23. It was actress Jameela Jamil who was responsible for bringing Megan Thee Stallion onto the screen for a brief cameo in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Stallion played herself in the series and even shared some dance moves with lead actress Tatiana Maslany. While the executive producers of the show believed Stallion’s scene to be one of the “most important” ones in the MCU, it may turn out to be the franchise’s biggest regret.

The Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion feud made headlines early this year and also led to fan wars over social media. While there were hints of it earlier, things picked steam when Stallion released her track Hiss. The song contained lyrics mocking Minaj’s husband, which led to her responding by releasing a diss track titled Big Foot.

Much has been speculated about the origin of the feud and what circumstances led to this ugly rivalry that has gone on to include their personal lives. As we look into the timeline of their professional relationship, Stallion’s collab with Cardi B on Wap seems to be the start of all this mess.

The entertainment industry is no stranger to drama and controversy. Most recently, Megan Thee Stallion, renowned for her sassy lyrics and empowering presence, is facing allegations from a photographer who claims he got wrongfully fired. The Grammy winner and Mean Girls actress is being sued by her former personal cameraman for allegedly creating a hostile and “abusive work environment”.
It is alleged that the rapper’s former employee was forced to witness her intimate acts with another woman. Does this imply that the photographer was fired unfairly for refusing to engage in the explicit act?

Anyway, Stallion, on the other hand, flatly denied the allegations, with her lawyer claiming it is an “employment claim” for monetary compensation.

Megan Thee Stallion’s former personal cameraman is taking the Grammy winner and Mean Girls actress and Roc Nation to court for creating an “intolerable” and “hostile abusive work environment.”
In a nine-claim complaint filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Emilio Garcia is accusing Megan Pete (Thee Stallion’s real name), her own company, her Hot Girl Touring and the Jay-Z founded entertainment platform of underpaying him, misclassifying him and causing “severe emotional distress and anxiety” due to overwork almost since the moment he started working for the “Plan” B singer in July 2018 (read the whole complaint here).
In particular, it seems an alleged explicit incident in the back of a moving car almost two years ago that proved the final straw – for all concerned:

Megan Thee Stallion says she navigated “dark times” after being shot by Tory Lanez in 2020, offering new insight this week into her recovery from the assault.
“As a Black woman, as a darker Black woman, I also feel like people expect me to take the punches, take the beating, take the lashings, and handle it with grace,” Stallion told Women’s Health. “But I’m human.”
In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felonies for shooting Megan, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm that left the hip-hop star with bullet fragments in her feet. During the trial, Megan faced backlash from fans and fellow artists who questioned the validity of her version of the story.
“A lot of people didn’t treat me like I was human for a long time,” Stallion recalled of the vitriol. “I feel like everybody was always used to me being the fun and happy party girl.

A not-so-fetch joke has been removed from the “Mean Girls” (2024) movie musical for its digital release.
The quip in question seemingly referred to original 2004 “Mean Girls” star Lindsay Lohan as “fire crotch,” a callback to an infamous TMZ paparazzi video in which socialite Brandon Davis made comments about Lohan’s body.
In the new “Mean Girls,” rapper Megan Thee Stallion — playing herself — uses the term to reference Lohan. The scene comes in the final moments of the film during a prom sequence, where Stallion, tells the new Cady Heron (Angourie Rice; Lohan was the Og Cady): “We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back!”
The updated cut for streaming and VOD release now has Stallion solely saying, “We are going back to red” — you can watch the re-edited version here.

A joke from Mean Girls which Lindsay Lohan pushed back against seems to be missing from at-home versions of the film released last week.
The movie musical version of the film, which began as Tina Fey’s beloved 2004 movie starring Lohan and then went to Broadway before making its way back to the screen this year, became available on digital platforms last week after its theatrical debut in January.
The film, which opened 2024 with a bang at the box office, featured a cameo from Megan Thee Stallion telling Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) that “Y2K fire crotch is back.”
In 2006, a TMZ video made headlines for oil empire heir Brandon Davis’ insulting comments about Lohan, which included him referring to the actress as a “fire crotch.”

It's been almost 50 years since "Rocky" first arrived in 1976, and in that time the franchise has changed dramatically. The "Rocky" saga has now grown beyond original star Sylvester Stallone, with Michael B. Jordan's "Creed III" barely mentioning the man who birthed the now legendary film series. Whatever you think about that, everyone can surely recognize the staying power of the "Rocky" movies, which have formed part of our pop cultural history for the better part of a half century.
None of this could have happened without the first entry in the saga, of course. "Rocky" introduced the world to the scrappy Southpaw from South Philly, who led a film that was remarkable for its realism and affecting performances. Much of that was down to Stallone who, having written the script during a particularly challenging time in his personal life, insisted on starring in the film, only to wow audiences...

Carl Weathers is dead at the age of 76. It’s shocking to consider, even though his best-known character, Apollo Creed, in some ways was ultimately defined by his death in 1985’s “Rocky IV.” The franchise went on without him, and ultimately followed his son played by Michael B. Jordan. But for the next 38 years, there was the fact that Weathers was in reality alive, well, in astonishingly great shape, and underutilized.
Now, Weathers has died himself. And given that he was one of Hollywood’s most prominent musclemen of the late ’70s and ’80s, an era defined by fitness-obsessed actors who either were athletes or aspired to be them, 76 feels startlingly young. Especially given how vital and active he was up until the very end, even directing a couple episodes of “The Mandalorian” so good that one wishes he could have, for the sake of that show’s quality, directed more.

For the unversed, in 1994, Petty was charged with attempted r*pe by Hough, and in 2021, she opened up about the terrifying things that took place earlier. She alleged that Petty held her at gunpoint and, forced her to get inside his house and forced himself on Hough.

Nicki Minaj has been on social media assault ever since she tuned in to Megan Thee Stallion’s latest track, Hiss.
Released on Friday, the song garnered an immediate reaction from Minaj, who appears to believe that she and her convicted sex offender husband are being targeted in a specific lyric.
In the hours following the song’s release, Minaj took to Twitter multiple times to express her grievances with Megan, labeling her a liar and a flop, according to Xxl.
In a recent tweet, Minaj not only announced the release of her own track, Big Foot but also issued a threat to “empty da clip” with five additional songs.
The Starships rapper implied the unveiling of incriminating evidence, without explicitly mentioning Megan by name.
“After the 1st one drop, if dat p***y ass hoe so much as Breathe wrong ima empty da clip. If that p***y ass hoe deny 1Thing I say,...

Nicki Minaj expressed displeasure with Megan Thee Stallion’s latest song, Hiss by releasing a diss track of her own.
In the song, Megan seems to target Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender when she rapped a line about Megan’s Law, which mandates information disclosure about registered sex offenders by law enforcement.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” she said on the new song, continuing:
“B***h, you a p***y, never finna check me/ Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me,” the Stallion raps on Hiss.
Following the release of the song on January 26, Nicki Minaj went on Instagram Live to give a sneak peek of an unreleased track responding to Megan.

It’s been nearly 50 years since Rocky Balboa ran up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, creating one of cinematic history’s most iconic and inspiring moments. To help celebrate this incredible act of determination, Sylvester Stallone returned to Philadelphia for the first-ever “Rocky Day,” an event commemorating his 1976 Academy Award-winning film and that magical moment when the Italian Stallion cemented his place in the hearts and minds of fans worldwide.
Thousands of people gathered at the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps for the start of the annual holiday celebrating Stallone’s classic film. The event saw Stallone’s family members and friend, actor Chevy Chase, joining the festivities, cheering on the big guy and smiling for cameras.
Addressing the crowd, Stallone spoke from the heart, saying, “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart — and Rocky’s, too, because we’re very close — to all of you,...

Evildoers beware! Sylvester Stallone is getting back in the ring with Amazon MGM Studios to develop Samaritan 2, a sequel to the Italian Stallion’s 2022 superhero action movie. Bragi F. Schut, who wrote the first film, returns to pen the sequel, with Stallone producing alongside his Balboa Productions partner Braden Aftergood. In addition to producing the film, Stallone reprises his role as Joe from the original.
Here’s the official synopsis for Samaritan:
Thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone), is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty-five years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos,...

Some unfortunate news to report, folks. Burt Young, the legendary character actor who co-starred with JoBlo’s beloved Sylvester Stallone in Rocky, is dead at 83. Deadline was the first to report the news. Young famously played Rocky’s brother-in-law Paulie, Adrian’s (Talia Shire) brother, a wannabe tough guy who stays in Rocky’s corner despite everything. Young was nominated for an Oscar for the original film, and indeed, Paulie was a complex character. In the first film, he’s Adrian’s abusive older brother. By the third film, his mounting insecurity is confronted by the Italian Stallion, leading to him becoming a corner man for his climactic fight with Mr T’s Clubber Lang in Rocky III. He goes on to back him up for his bout with Ivan Drago in IV before giving power of attorney to a crooked lawyer in V, temporarily bankrupting the family, only for...

Burt Young, who played Paulie in six of the “Rocky” films starring Sylvester Stallone, drawing an Oscar nomination for supporting actor for his performance in the 1976 original, has died, his daughter Anne Morea Steingieser confirmed to the New York Times. He was 83.
Roger Ebert gave Young his props for his performance in the first “Rocky” film: “And Burt Young as (Adrian’s) brother — defeated and resentful, loyal and bitter, caring about people enough to hurt them just to draw attention to his grief.” The New York Times — in an absolutely scathing, completely dismissive review of the film — nevertheless said: “Burt Young is effective as Rocky’s best friend, a beer-guzzling mug.”
Young’s temperamental, jealous but nonetheless loyal and caring Paulie Pennino was Rocky’s best friend — he would defend the Italian Stallion if someone insulted him. But he was a problematic friend who shouts at Adrian during her pregnancy,...

Who is Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone? Depending on your age, he's Rocky Balboa, John Rambo, Lieutenant Marion "Cobra" Cobretti, Lincoln Hawk, or maybe even The Toymaker in "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over." If you're a diehard film nut, he's the third person ever to be nominated for the Academy Award for writing and acting in the same year, following Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles. If you're Italian-American, he's a golden God to whom all our fathers pray. And if you're just Ken, he's the definitive measure of American masculinity. For nearly half a century, Sylvester Stallone has been a mainstay of U.S. cinema, and his genuine rags-to-riches underdog tale is one of the most inspirational and aspirational career stories in Hollywood history.
Now, Netflix is releasing a new documentary called "Sly" that chronicles Stallone's career and provides an intimate look at the Renaissance Man behind the multi-million dollar franchises.

While Sylvester Stallone’s latest sequel Expend4bles may have been a letdown for the Italian Stallion, Awfully Good Movies is putting on a headband and spandex for John Travolta in the 1983 Stallone-directed sequel to 1977’s Saturday Night Fever: Staying Alive!
After Stallone and Travolta both shot to stardom in the 70s with their respective Oscar-nominated roles of Philly boxer Rocky Balboa and Brooklyn dancer Tony Manero, the two decided to combine their underdog powers for a Saturday Night Fever sequel where Tony trades in the disco floor for the Broadway stage, with Stallone rewriting and directing in the wake of Rocky III’s phenomenal success and providing a “sly” cameo as himself. Megan Thee Stallion experienced nearly every emotion possible when she was asked to perform with Beyoncé on the Houston stop of the Renaissance Tour last weekend.
It was a fitting proposition, as both Grammy winners are Texas natives. The star power was undoubtedly exploding through the Nrg Stadium as the duo linked up to cover Stallion’s 2020 chart-topper, “Savage”, and Stallion herself was bursting with a myriad of feelings too.
Taking her emotions over to Instagram, the rapper, who has sold over 5 million units in the U.S., shared a recollection of her thoughts when she was asked to join the stage with Queen Bey, and yes, the tears were flowing for the super fan.

“Big Mouth” is embracing its savage side with the announcement that Grammy-winning Megan Thee Stallion will guest star in Season 7. The penultimate season of the Netflix animated comedy is set to premiere October 20.
Based on this first teaser, the rapper will be playing a Hormone Monstress named — you guessed it — Megan Thee Stallion. That’s right, the “Body” singer is playing herself. True to the rapper’s brand, there’s a lot of twerking and tongue thrusting in the short clip.

The first time director Larry Charles was invited to the Toronto International Film Festival, he brought along a little something called Borat, which, despite enduring an extended projector breakdown 20 minutes into its premiere screening, emerged as a word-of-mouth sensation. Now, some 17 years later, Charles has returned to the festival’s Midnight Madness section with Dicks: The Musical, which not only screened without a technical hitch, but emerges as a certified wave-maker in its own right.
Created by and starring Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp, making the transition from a 30-minute, six-song play called F*cking Identical Twins — mounted in the basement home of New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade — to a feature-length, all-singing, all-dancing, naughty goof on The Parent Trap, the movie packs an infectious albeit ephemeral punch.

Lyrics that include the words “dick,” “fuck” and “pussy” are not the typical wholesome, family content the Academy’s Music Branch tends to recognize. But occasionally, they have allowed a couple to slip through. A24’s “Dicks: The Musical,” the opening night Midnight Madness at TIFF, has an onslaught of hilarious and catchy tunes that I wish the Oscars would be brave enough to nominate.
With so many hilarious tracks to choose from, including “Gay Old Life” and “The Sewer Song,” Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion brings down the house with her delivery on the rap and dance number “Out-Alpha the Alpha.” It could and should be one of the many songs to consider for this year’s Academy Awards, and distributor A24 confirms they’ll submit the movie for Oscar consideration.

Los Angeles, Aug 9 (Ians) Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting of US hip hop star Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
Lanez, 31, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty in December 2022 of three felonies — assault with a semi-automatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
He was sentenced by a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday afternoon after a marathon sentence hearing that lasted two full days.
The charges stem from an incident in July 2020, where Lanez shot Stallion in the foot during an argument after a pool party hosted by Kylie Jenner, the BBC reported.
On Monday, a written statement from Stallion said she has “not experienced a single day of peace” since the shooting.

You've seen A24 films about somewhat literal man-eating aliens ("Under the Skin"), people being turned into walruses ("Tusk"), farting corpses ("Swiss Army Man"), talking shells ("Marcel the Shell with Shoes On"), and the multiverse ("Everything Everywhere All at Once"). Now, the studio is trying its hand at a musical for the first time with "Dicks: The Musical," a film that, contrary to my expectations the first time I saw that title, is not about singing penises. I mean, A24 only just made a film featuring a giant penis monster, so it wasn't out of the question.
Backing up -- "Dicks: The Musical" comes from relative newcomers Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp, who both wrote the film -- which is based on their original two-person stage musical "F***ing Identical Twins" -- and star as a pair of obnoxious business bros who find out they're literal twins and conspire to get their divorced parents back together.

Barbie fever is sweeping the nation, and pink is steadily becoming the dominant color of 2023. After making over $100 million at the box office during its opening weekend, the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, is taking a victory lap, her excited steps likely fueled by the sound of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.” Why this song in particular? Gerwig is a Rocky fan, and as it turns out, Sylvester Stallone’s Italian Stallion played a role in how Ryan Gosling’s approach to playing Ken came to be.
Speaking with Uproxx about the monumental success of Barbie, being only the second woman to direct a movie that earned $100M+ at the box office during an opening weekend, and how Stallone represents her idea of a “real man,” Gerwig gushes about finding inspiration in an unexpected resource with the Rocky movies.

The beloved action stars that defined the 80s and 90s are not only rolling with the trends but also getting reflective and introspective in their twilight years. Sylvester Stallone found longevity with his biggest creation as Rocky Balboa, when a young fan named Ryan Coogler wanted to make a spin-off sequel with Apollo Creed’s son. Sly may have had an ugly departure from the franchise, but the action legend partnered with Paramount+ to star in two projects — Tulsa King from Taylor Sheridan and a reality show with his family, The Family Stallone.

The one he’s clearly a champ at now is being a #girldad, which is probably why Stallone is so fired up to be sharing the screen (and more at-home time) with daughters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet in The Family Stallone, a sweetly comical docu-soap. It’s not the action icon’s first time stepping into the reality TV ring — back in 2005, he cohosted Season 1 of The Contender, a boxing competition from Mark Burnett — but this one allows him to capture moments of the heart instead of punches to the gut. “I know what it’s like to live our private life, but I want to [preserve] it. I want to make a real, long memory of it,” says the Italian Stallion turned ol’ softy.

According to Sylvester Stallone, when Adele bought his old Los Angeles mansion for $58 million in 2022, she practically threatened to blow up the deal if Sly didn’t include one specific piece of memorabilia in the sale: A bronze statue of Rocky Balboa that stood above the house’s pool.
“[Adele] said, ‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal.’ She wanted the statue,” Stallone said in an interview with the “Wall Street Journal” released Monday.
The sale did indeed go through last year, per the L.A. Times, and she’s presumably staring into the Italian Stallion’s bronze eyes at this very moment.
“I like what she’s doing,” Stallone added of the singer’s renovations to his former home. “She’s making it gorgeous.”
