When it comes to physical transformations, nailing accents, and memorable performances in the comedic genre, few can claim to be as versatile as Mike Myers. The Canadian star’s portrayal of the titular spy in the satirical film series Austin Powers is a case in point. The actor also gave life to one of the most loved animated characters, Shrek.

10. Not Another Teen Movie (2001)
Tired of the repetitive teen rom-coms of the 1990s, director Joel Gallen decided to make his own — and arguably, one of the best by far. In perhaps the most classic teen movie tale, a popular high-school jock gets challenged by his friends to turn a shy and bullied girl into a prom queen… And hopelessly falls in love with her.
You can watch Not Another Teen Movie on Hulu, Netflix, and Prime Video.
9. Scary Movie (2000)
A very similar thought occurred to Keenen Ivory Wayans, the director of Scary Movie who pumped his flick full with the most popular horror cliches of the 1990s — and still produced a greatly entertaining film. A group of teenagers who accidentally killed a man is haunted by a mysterious mumbling killer who picks them off one by one.
You can watch Scary Movie on Max, Hulu, Netflix, and Prime Video.

There is no question now: Deal or No Deal Island, the spin-off of Deal or No Deal, is a hit.
The premise of the new game show is simple: The 13 contestants travel to an island “where they compete in daring challenges to find hidden briefcases worth over $200 million,” according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Some familiar faces among the contestants include Boston Rob Mariano, Claudia Jordan, and Joe Manganiello, the host.
The Survivor alum Rob Mariano, aka Boston Rob, has shared some excellent news about Deal or No Deal Island on his Instagram feed.
The show is in Season 1 and doing very well with its viewer numbers. It earned an additional appearance on NBC and is steaming on Peacock.

The 1990 television adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel "It" may be best known for Tim Curry's performance as Pennywise, who made an entire generation seriously terrified of clowns, but it would be nothing without the heart and soul of the Loser's Club. In the 1950s, a group of misfit kids growing up in Derry, Maine are brought together, partially because they don't belong anywhere else, but also because they happen to be targeted by the malevolent force that haunts their town, stealing and murdering its local children. Together, they have to face off against Pennywise to stop the killing once and for all. That's what they think, anyway. But despite defeating Pennywise as children, they're forced to return to Derry as adults and once again confront the terrors of their youth.
As a result of this, "It" has an interesting casting dilemma of finding not only seven...

After the massive success of the "Wayne's World" movies, studios were eager to capitalize on the popularity of "Saturday Night Live" cast member Mike Myers and his ability to create truly memorable characters. While womanizing James Bond spoof that is Austin Powers wasn't something Myers brought to "SNL" like the "Wayne's World" sketches, the shagadelic spoy blew up in pop culture pretty quickly.
"Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" made him a household name in 1997, complete with a massive marketing campaign and merchandise ranging from Austin Powers Halloween costumes to vintage tin lunchboxes. For a few short years, it seemed like Hollywood got swept up in Powers-mania, as two sequels were released in fairly quick succession. But after "Austin Powers in Goldmember" in 2002, the character pretty much disappeared from the pop culture consciousness. Before Canadian actor Mike Myers was yelling "Yeah, baby" through fake teeth or battling (and playing) Dr. Evil in "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" and its sequels, he was a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1989-1995. Myers created unforgettable characters like the strongly-accented Linda Richman from "Coffee Talk," the severe Dieter, host of the German dance show "Sprockets," the basement-dwelling Wayne Campbell, who later headed the movie "Wayne's World," and the angry Scottish man Stuart Rankin, owner of the fictional store "All Things Scottish."
In addition to his memorable creations, Myers has recently appeared in David O. Russell's "Amsterdam" and played almost every character in the Netflix original series "The Pentaverate." "SNL" was where we got to know him, though, and it turns out that getting on the show was important to Myers because of original "SNL" cast member Gilda Radner.

Over his decades-spanning career, Mike Myers has crafted some of comedy's most memorable characters. You might know him most fondly as the headbanging hero Wayne of "Wayne's World," whether on "Saturday Night Live" during his '89-'95 tenure or in the celebrated movie adaptations. Perhaps you recall how he dominated the late '90s as both villain and swinging protagonist in the spy-parodic "Austin Powers" movies, and the subsequent inability to walk down the street without hearing a poorly-feigned Dr. Evil impression. Maybe ogres are your bag, making Myers' turn as an unrefined Scottish mean green machine Shrek the zenith of his talents. Or perhaps the name is fairly new for emergent comedy fans, the product of stumbling upon the cult-centric laugh-fest "The Pentaverate" on Netflix. Myers' influence on comedy is well-established, but what influences the influencer?

I don't care what anybody says, "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" absolutely holds up. Yeah, it's extremely stupid, but that's why it's great! The first "Austin Powers" film isn't trying to be anything more than it is, and that's refreshing. It's a comedy where Mike Myers plays multiple characters, and that rules! Okay, sure, parts of it haven't aged very well, but that's to be expected with any comedy of yesteryear. Fortunately, there wasn't anything absolutely horrific, so I feel comfortable continuing to defend the film as a favorite.
One of the funniest parts of the film is the relationship between Dr. Evil, one of Mike Myers' roles, and his son, Scott Evil, played by Seth Green (of being dangled over a trash can by Bill Murray fame). Dr. Evil is, as you can imagine, evil, a caricature of the more ridiculous Bond villains you would see during the Roger Moore era.

It’s been a long time since Mike Myers was at the center of a major comedy. Aside from two or three small film roles and the occasional TV commercial or late show appearance as Dr. Evil, Myers has become more of a ‘90s pop culture reference than a working actor. But he’s finally back in the spotlight with a new original series for Netflix called “The Pentaverate” in which he will, once again, play a multitude of different characters.

Updated with more ads Super Bowl Lvi is finally upon us, and it feels a lot different than last year’s big game.
For starters, SoFi Stadium in LA will be full. A year ago, the game vividly reflected the grueling early phase of Covid, as Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium hosted 24,835 fans, one-third of whom were newly vaccinated health care workers.
This season, roaring crowds and close games have boosted NFL ratings, with the conference championship games at the end of January posting multi-year highs. NBCUniversal, which will carry the Super Bowl on NBC, Peacock and Telemundo, is hoping that breadth will goose ratings. Even for an event that is the longtime king of tune-in, any increase (after last year’s tumble to 96.4 million viewers) would be a tonic.
Better ratings, though, would merely be icing on an already lucrative cake. All of the ad inventory sold out...

The Gossip Girl reboot certainly knows how to bring the drama, and episode four just referenced one of the most chaotic characters from the original show's run. When Zoya needs help taking down Julien (believing Julien is out to destroy her life), she turns to 10-year-old Milo Sparks. If that name sounds familiar, that's because Milo's mother is none other than original schemer Georgina Sparks, and it looks like he's learned from the best when it comes to sabotage.
Milo actually plays a pivotal role during season four of the original Gossip Girl. Georgina convinces Dan Humphrey that he's Milo's father, even getting him to sign the birth certificate. Later on, it's revealed that Dan couldn't be Milo's father and his biological dad is a Russian named Serge. The 2021 iteration of the show even gives a clever nod to the drama, with Milo telling Zoya that his real last name is Ivanov.

Professional basketball players are a marvel seemingly created by an animator’s pen: elongated arms, mountainous shoulders, whirlwind speed and an ability to leap over defenders in a single bound. Even among other athletes, they’re unique physical outliers incapable of blending into a crowd — let alone a movie — unless playing themselves. Or unless their scene partner is also able to contort into a rocket and blast off into space., i.e., is a cartoon.

Right now it seems as though the Austin Powers franchise has stalled, or is at the very least better off being a trilogy rather than a continuing saga. There’s no denying that the spoof movies that helped to elevate Mike Myers to his current status were great all on their own and as connected movies, but until the idea of what to do next can be cracked as Josh Kurp of Uproxx has written, there’s not a lot of forward movement that seems possible. The idea of Dr. Evil having more to his character now almost seems like it would

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been over 20 years since Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me released in theaters. The follow up to 1997’s International Man of Mystery proved to be a huge success, grossing over $300 million at the box office, and even snagging an Academy Award nomination for Best Makeup. As many will know, the third film in the series, Goldmember, came out a few years later, but ever since, the franchise has been lying dormant, although Mike Myers occasionally reprises his role as Dr. Evil on late-night TV.
While it’s largely flown under the radar, it turns out a fourth movie has been in the works for well over a decade, though it’s safe to say it’s stuck in development hell. Multiple reports indicate that the sequel could focus on Dr. Evil and his son, though it’s not entirely clear if a finished script even exists.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me,” director Jay Roach sat down with The Independent for an interview reflecting on the unexpected success of the Mike Myers-led spy comedy franchise. Roach has been behind the camera for all three “Austin Powers” films and says he remains open to directing a fourth film. The last “Austin Powers” movie, “Goldmember,” opened in July 2002 and grossed just under $300 million worldwide.
“We’ve been trying to think up an idea that could earn a fourth film for a long time, but it’s always up to Mike,” Roach said. “He and I always thought there was more to do with Dr. Evil.”
The major obstacle facing a potential “Austin Powers 4” is the loss of supporting actor Verne Troyer. The performer became a face of the “Austin Powers” franchise as the character Mini-Me, debuting in “The Spy...

An apparent rift existed between Mike Myers and Dana Carvey for years — and a big reason revolved around the diabolical fictional character Dr. Evil.

There’s perhaps no genre Danny Boyle can’t work within. On the opposite spectrum from his darker works, Yesterday is a flawed yet mostly effective light and fluffy departure, examining stardom in a post-Beatles world in which fledging alt-rocker Jack Malik (Hamish Patel) become the vessel for spreading love, joy, and sonic harmony. While the film provides the kind of comfortable formulaic delight that screenwriter Richard Curtis has built his 40-year career on, it’s not destined to be an oft-rewatchable gem like so many of his previous efforts, such as Love Actually, Notting Hill, and Four Weddings and a Funeral–nor may it inspire younger viewers to revisit The Beatles catalog.

Myers is no stranger to portraying multiple characters. In the “Austin Powers” film series, he played the title character, his nemesis Dr. Evil, Fat Bastard and Goldmember. On “SNL,” he played Wayne Campbell (which led to two “Wayne’s World” feature films), “Sprockets” host Dieter, and Linda Richman from “Coffee Talk.

Par for the course on Oscar nomination day, critics are lambasting the academy for overlooking such gems as “The Rider,” “Leave No Trace” and “Private Life,” all directed by women, while nominating such odd bedfellows for Best Picture as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Vice,” the Marvel sci-fi fantasy “Black Panther” and even “A Star is Born.”
As both a film critic and a journalist covering the Oscars for decades, I get their frustration but have only this to say to them, you don’t get it.
There is kind of an assumption that because members of the academy work in the industry that their tastes would be more refined than the person sobbing at the end of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “A Star is Born.”

Verne Troyer's estate is getting a harsh reminder about the high cost of medical care, because it just got a hefty bill for his final days in an L.A. hospital. According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Valley Presbyterian Hospital slapped Verne's estate with a $364,797.05 invoice for his nearly three week hospitalization. Verne eventually died there from alcohol abuse. It might sound like a move straight outta Dr. Evil's playbook ... the fact is,...

Dr. Evil, is that you?
“No, it’s a White Cory Booker. Of course it’s me, numbnuts!” Mike Myers’ alter ego shouted at host Jimmy Fallon, when the iconic “Austin Powers” villain showed up on the “Tonight Show” Monday to declare his latest evil scheme: getting into politics.
Dr. Evil wasted in no time in announcing he’s intent to run for congress in today’s midterm elections, as an “Eviltarian,” of course, with the ultimate goal to “Make America Evil Again.”

He’s baaack!
On Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, comedian Mike Myers brought his hilarious Austin Powers villain, Dr. Evil, back to announce he’d be on the ballot for the midterm elections, in a congressional race.
“It’s 2018. Evil’s in, right? It’s hip,” Dr. Evil joked. “It’s like playing Fortnite while slamming a Tide Pod and doing the Shiggy challenge.”
So what inspired Dr. Evil to choose Congress? Well, apparently, Dr. Evil “was hoping for Brett Kavanaugh’s job” but President Trump said he was “too even-tempered for that.”

Mike Myers dusted off Dr. Evil, his nefarious, bald-headed villain from the Austin Powers franchise, on Monday’s Tonight Show. One day ahead of the midterm elections, the character revealed his plans to run for Congress – including a platform to “Make America Evil Again.”
The grey-clad cackler plotted a “five-point evil plan” to increase YouTube ad time, promote Donald Trump Jr. to secretary of treasury, make “Screamin’ Dill Pickle” the only flavor of Pringles, legalize weed (“Poppy needs that sticky-icky for his glaucoma”) and change the national anthem to the “Baby Shark Dance.

Goldmember, the final film (so far) in the Austin Powers series again shifts its timeline. However, rather than a negligible, though comparatively significant, jump from late to very late 1960s, here we dive into that most raucous of decades – the 1970s. And then back to 2002 (do keep up). For costume designer Deena Appel it was a wildly ambitious undertaking. Not to mention the film also features a well-known music and movie star, just about to launch into the stratosphere: Beyoncé.
Speaking exclusively to Clothes on Film and closing out our epic in-depth look at the Austin Powers trilogy, Deena Appel explains her inspiration and research for Goldmember, complete with never seen before sketches of all the pivotal characters.

A long time ago in a press release far, far away, ILMxLAB revealed that they were working on a virtual reality adventure starring Darth Vader. Well, today we got our first look at Vader Immortal: A Star Wars Vr Series in the last few years, and it's...something.
Based on what we see in this trailer, it appears that the plot of this series - or at least this episode - will take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It sees an unidentified individual being drawn to Vader's liquid hot magma evil lair on Mustafar. It seems that Vader has brought this individual to Dr. Evil's summer home for a specific purpose. Unfortunately, he does not reveal that purpose.

With Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), costume designer Deena Appel created one of the most iconic screen looks of all time. That is no overstatement; Austin Powers has been copied and homaged and wheeled out every year as a Halloween costume, with very little credit put Appel’s way. It is a rather sad indictment of how the industry works that, despite its importance, especially in a film such as Austin Powers, a costume designer will rarely see any kudos come their way.
Awards? Well, you might have a chance if your film is set in Victorian England or Disney-verse, but other than that not so much. With this in mind, it seems an apt a time as any to celebrate Appel’s incredible achievement with the Austin Powers trilogy, by interviewing the designer herself and publishing a raft of costume sketches from each movie.

I really enjoyed the Austin Powers films that Mike Meyers made. They always managed to make me laugh. There's been talk of another sequel in the past. Mike Meyers even signed up for it back in 2011, but we have yet to see any kind of movement on it. If an Austin Powers 4 film does eventually get made though, Mike Meyers knows the direction that he'd like to take it.
While talking to Entertainment Tonight, Meyers revealed that he would want the story to focus on Dr. Evil and be told from the villain's point of view.
"I would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil's perspective. So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4, is how I would roll. Start the campaign, please. Thank you."
I'd be up for that! The fans love Dr. Evil so the fact that the next film could focus on that character would be great.

Mike Myers joined Wednesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” impersonating Dr. Harold Bornstein, the former doctor for President Donald Trump, where he spoke about the president’s health and asked Kimmel multiple times if he needed any “boner pills.”
“In the long history of talk show hosts, you are unequivocally the most virile and vigorous one of them all,” said Myers-as-Bornstein. “Do you need any pills? Uppers, Downers, boner pills?”
The real Dr. Bornstein on Tuesday told CNN that his infamous letter written during 2015 on Trump’s health, the one where he states that Trump “unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” was actually dictated by Trump himself.

“So, he is a dictator,” quipped Kimmel.
The real Bornstein is claiming that Trump’s ex-bodyguard Keith Schiller robbed his office when Schiller retrieved Trump’s medical records. Kimmel mentioned that a possible reason Schiller went after Trump’s medical records was that they didn’t want any evidence that Trump used Propecia, known for treating hair loss.
But Myers’ Bornstein hinted it was something worse, but since he’s a doctor, he wasn’t at liberty to say what it was. So the two of them did what any respectable adults would in that situation: they played “Hot and Cold” to find out what was wrong with Trump.

After a slew of guesses, Kimmel asked: “Is it syphilis?” then Myers rang a cowbell.
“Wait a minute, are you saying they invaded your office to cover up evidence that the president is suffering from syphilis?” to which Myers replied, “Jimmy Cakes I can’t comment on a former patient’s medical condition, that’s private information” (then huffed in a bag).
This isn’t the first time Myers has appeared in a character with something to do with Trump. Last month on “The Tonight Show,” he appeared as “Austin Powers” villain Dr. Evil, claiming he was the latest to be fired from the Trump administration.
