Mumbai, Aug 23 (Ians) Actor Rohit Bose Roy, who has voiced Peter Quill in all the three Hindi versions of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise, said that he enjoyed voicing Chris Pratt’s character of Peter Quill as his character is similar to what he is in real life.
Rohit said: “Voicing Chris Pratt in the role of Peter Quill or Star-Lord was so much fun because his character is similar to what I am in real life- fun, engaging and a little cocky. I remember the first time I dubbed for Peter Quill, they were so excited about my voice on Chris Pratt’s face that I became his unofficial voice across India.
“Working in this industry is something that makes me happy, and the fact that the film is a part of the epic Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy franchise only adds to my happiness.”

Mumbai, Aug 3 (Ians) James Gunn, the director and writer of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3’, has shared that he feels really close to the character of Rocket in the film.
In the new film, Rocket Raccoon’s turbulent past catches up as the movie presents a visual and emotional roller coaster.
Sharing how Rocket takes centre stage in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3’, James Gunn said: “The central character, in a way, is Rocket, and Rocket’s the one I feel close to,” he explains. “The first film is the story of the mother, the second film is the story of the father, and this film is the story of the self, so it’s innately more intimate because of that.”
Elaborating about the character of Rocket, he said: “This is a little animal who was taken and turned into something he shouldn’t be and felt completely...

Mumbai, July 26 (Ians) Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ragtag band of misfits has now completed their pursuit with ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’ bringing an end to the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ or ‘Gotg’ trilogy. Director James Gunn said that one of the most critical points for him was that the films be tonally fluid as he did not want the humour to undercut the many dark and serious moments in the movies.
Sharing his vision behind the trilogy, James Gunn said, “The first film is the story of the mother, the second film is the story of the father, and this film is the story of the self, so it’s innately more intimate because of that.”
The trilogy is noted for their mix of comedy, action, character development as well as emotional depth and storytelling.

Being introduced as a new Marvel villain is a daunting task for any actor. The MCU has an endlessly passionate (and very online) fanbase that is often all too eager to compare each new star to the comic book characters they’ve spent a lifetime reading about. It can be nerve-racking to willingly place yourself under such a large microscope — and that’s when you’re doing it while dressed like a normal person.
Chukwudi Iwuji didn’t even get that luxury when he formally introduced himself to the Marvel world at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022. During Marvel Studios’ annual Hall H panel, the actor was suspiciously absent when James Gunn and the rest of his cast took the stage to reveal the first trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” held preview screenings and had its Hollywood premiere on Thursday, and that means the reactions are pouring in.
And it’s a given that so far, those who saw it tonight mostly loved it. Attendees in screenings on the east coast or in the central time zones got out first — as we write this, the Hollywood premiere screening is currently about halfway through — so we’ll start with them.
Film critic Bob Chipman calls it “easily the best of the trilogy and a top 5 Marvel Movie,” and he also posits that director James Gunn’s new bosses at Warner. Bros. have to be happy with that decision after seeing this.
Writer Mike Ryan said Gunn “bet the house” on the film, “and won,” and praised how it exists as a sci-fi action film as opposed to another Super Hero joint.
But there was some rumblings of dissent.

Talk about an effective trailer. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s first lengthy trailer features so many incredibly fun scenes and heartwrenching snippets that it’s difficult to single out any particular standout moment. From Groot declaring “We are Groot” to Rocket saying “We’ll all fly away together” to the return of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), there’s a little something for every fan in the trailer that debuted at the Comic-Con Experience 2022 in São Paulo, Brazil.
My personal fav is the following exchange between Peter and Drax:
Drax – “And we’ll kill anyone who gets in our way!”
Peter – “No, not kill anyone.”
Drax – “Kill a few people.”
Peter – “Kill no people.”
Drax – “Kill one guy. One stupid guy, who no one loves.
Peter – “Now you’re just making it sad.”

While the superhero pic’s plot has been kept under wraps, past installments have followed the half-human, half-alien Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord (Pratt), and his gang of intergalactic criminals as they fend off various threats to their universe. Vol. 3 is set to be the last in James Gunn’s series of Guardians films.
Production on the Marvel movie kicked off in November of 2021. Exec producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso,...

Exclusive: Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a key role in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, we can reveal.
Filming recently wrapped on the anticipated threequel, which will star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Sylvester Stallone, Karen Gillan, Elizabeth Debicki, Will Poulter, Chuk Iwuji. As we revealed last week, The Suicide Squad breakout Daniela Melchior has also joined cast.
Director James Gunn recently teased the involvement of an “unannounced actor” in the film. That person isn’t Bakalova, we understand. Her role is being kept under wraps. In response to our story, Gunn just Tweeted that Bakalova is “incredible” in the project:
Yes yes yes, okay, I guess I should be surprised it took you guys this long to get this one. @MariaBakalova96 is incredible. #gotgvol3 https://t.co/4lPsmut3q7

Exclusive: The Suicide Squad breakout Daniela Melchior will have a small role in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, we can confirm.
But as director James Gunn confirmed late last year, the actress won’t be appearing as character Moondragon, which had been speculated online.

That’s a wrap on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, according to filmmaker James Gunn.
The writer-director took to Twitter on Friday to announce that he’d wrapped principal photography, also teasing that the Marvel film will feature an appearance from an as-yet “unannounced actor.”
His first message to fans accompanied a photo of him with a number of Guardians‘ stars, including his brother Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan and Dave Bautista. “And that’s a picture wrap on the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy,” he wrote. “I love this amazing cast & crew & their beautiful talent & kind souls. I’m a lucky human to have them on the journey with me for nearly a decade.”
While Zoe Saldaña, who’s played Thanos’ adopted daughter Gamora in all three films, wasn’t pictured, Gunn was quick to note that the actress was, in fact, on site for the wrap celebration.

"You don't even know what's inside there, do you?!" Hammer Down is an excellent action-heavy 13-min short film made by Simon Hatt and it's now online. Inspired by his own upbringing with his truck driver father, Simon made an adventure film about a daughter and her truck driving father. Hammer Down tells the "story of a young girl (Abigail Dylan Harrison) traveling with her truck-driving father while he smuggles a mysterious cargo. This trucker western is The Professional by way of Indiana Jones, with maybe shades of Spielberg's Duel – which is a weird mix for sure," explains SlashFilm. Hatt first started out working as an assistant in Hollywood, then worked his way up to become James Gunn's right-hand man, taking on a producer role on his last three films. He made this short in his time off during the Christmas break from ...

I love short films. They are a storytelling form that allows for interesting twists and turns on the familiar, giving filmmakers a place to hone their craft. Short films are where I first discovered filmmakers like Jason Reitman before they started making features. As the owner of a film website, I get sent a lot […]

When Chris Sullivan showed up to his first day on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he was prepared to play Taserface, a badass but humorous alien. He was prepared to be wowed by the sets and by the artistry. But he left work that day with something he wasn’t prepared for: an offer for an entirely different project that would take him to the deserts of California.
That surprise offer came courtesy of Simon Hatt, a young Guardians producer who spent the day showing Sullivan around Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios, taking the actor through sets and costumes. The pair hit ...

What if someone with superpowers akin to Superman decided to use their abilities for evil instead of good? The chilling answer to that question is explored in David Yarovesky's Brightburn (which Heather Wixson wrote "soars as a gory slasher/superhero hybrid" in her 4-star review), and if you missed it in theaters or want to experience it again, you'll be pleased to know that Sony is releasing the film on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on August 20th (following an August 6th digital release), and we've been provided with the cover art and full list of bonus features:

Sony has moved back James Gunn’s horror project, now titled “BrightBurn,” from November of this year to May 24, 2019.
Gunn was previously set to discuss the project at San Diego ComicCon in the summer but did not appear following old comments the “Guardians of the Galaxy” director had made on Twitter that ultimately got him ousted from the Marvel movie series. Gunn teased something “dark, sweet and special” at the time, but did not appear during Sony’s Hall H panel.
“BrightBurn” is being produced by Gunn, written and produced by Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn, directed by David Yaroevsky and stars Elizabeth Banks. Dan Clifton, Nic Crawley and Simon Hatt are also producing. The plot is currently under wraps.

Having made a ton of money for Disney and Marvel Studios by directing two Guardians of the Galaxy flicks, one could say that James Gunn is currently a hot commodity. Still, he hasn’t forgotten where he came from and will soon return to the genre where he first made his mark, that being horror.
Earlier this week, we reported that a reunion of sorts is in the cards, this time involving the writer/director and actress Elizabeth Banks. Having previously starred in Gunn’s directorial debut, 2006’s Slither, she’ll again take part in one of his upcoming projects. And while we don’t know what the horror movie will be titled or what it’ll be about, it has been confirmed that Gunn will produce, with David Yarovesky (The Hive) set to direct.

Vin Diesel is the type of friend we all wish we had, and James Gunn can attest to that. On Thursday, the filmmaker shared an amazing true story on his Facebook page, which shows the lengths the actor is willing to go for a friend. The director, who has worked with Diesel on the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, said that while he could not make it to the premiere of “The Fate of the Furious,” he will surely go see the film this weekend. Why? “Because I love Vin Diesel (and Dodge Challengers, but that’s a different story),” he wrote.
